David and Annette Unrau Award Fund

The David and Annette Unrau Award Fund is a scholarship fund that makes an award at Stonewall Collegiate each year, either at graduation or the Evening of Excellence. Mrs. A. Unrau and family created the fund when they realized that her grandson, Brayden, would not be eligible for any of the awards given at school even though he worked just as hard, and maybe harder, than the other high-achieving students. They wish to recognize this segment of the school population who work incredibly hard but often do not get rewarded for their efforts.Jordan Inman was the first recipient in 2015 and he was thrilled!

The $500 award is for a student in an individualized or modified education program who has shown improvement during the year (either in behaviour or marks) or has consistently been a hard-working student. The student must have a good attitude and the student must have demonstrated a willingness to help others. This award is not contingent on the student going to post-secondary education and the winner is chosen by SCI’s awards committee. The fund started in 2014.
