The Interlake Community Foundation (also called “the ICF”) provides the residents of the RMs of Rockwood, Rosser, Woodlands and the Towns of Stonewall and Teulon with the opportunity to invest in the future of their community forever. The Foundation pools gifts in capital funds that remain in perpetuity. Your gift is never “spent” or “used up”. The income generated from the capital may be distributed as grants to registered charities in the region as part of our Community Grants Program, or as scholarships to students.

Earnings are allocated to encourage and support charitable projects in the areas of:

Community Services – Arts and Culture – Education – Heritage and the Environment – Health and Medical Services – Recreation and Sports – Youth and Senior Programs – and more.

Organizations apply for grants to fund local projects. Having established broad and flexible criteria, the Foundation can support innovative projects that might not be funded in any other way. Applications and information can be found on under the “Programs” tab. Deadline for applications is February 28th of each year. Successful applicants will be notified by April 30th.

The ICF manages several types of funds. The most popular is a named fund that is unrestricted; the income is used for our Community Granting Program. Other named funds are set up to support a specific local charity or community. Scholarship funds are set up to provide awards to students, and the criteria is set up by the fund stakeholder (following CRA rules.) We can also help local charities with flow through and spend down funds. Please contact us if you are considering setting up a fund to meet your charitable goals or create a lasting legacy for yourself, your business or a loved one. We aim to be the South Interlake’s “One Stop Donation Shop.”
