Woodlands Museum Inc – Heritage Trust Fund

The Woodlands  Museum Inc. entered into an agreement with the Winnipeg Foundation and the ICF to take advantage of matching funds from the Province of Manitoba.

The Woodlands Pioneer Museum began as a vision of RM of Woodlands community members during the 1970 celebration of Manitoba’s Centennial year. It was decided that the artifacts collected for that celebration should be the beginnings of a permanent display of our heritage. The museum provides such a venue to capture and honour the memories and spirit of our pioneers. The museum was incorporated in 1971 and  has been hosting visitors for nearly fifty years. The site consists of six buildings, including a historic church, an original one room school, a replica log house and additional structures all filled with artifacts from the region. The museum is managed by a volunteer board, including an original founding member. The community dedication and support have been their mainstay and they are continuing site development as well as adding more events and programming. Accessibility has been a priority goal.
