Students Give Back SCI, TCI, and WCI Funds

There is a Students Give Back (Youth in Philanthropy) Fund in for each high school in our area. Stonewall Collegiate, Teulon Collegiate and Warren Collegiate all participated in the Youth in Philanthropy program and received 3 years of generous funding from the Thomas Sill Foundation. Each group acted independently and awarded small grants to local registered charities.

The three schools will work with their Leadership or Social Justice Committees to make one grant in their communities. The ICF will provide a mentor to the group to help them along the way. We will encourage them to volunteer and/or fundraise for the charity of their choice. The grants will be awarded at our annual Grants Presentation event in May.

For 2022, the ICF offered the schools the chance to increase the grant they made. If they fundraised at least $500, then the ICF would match the $500 as a grant to their chosen charity.

The Warren Collegiate SGB fundraised for their gym project by selling energy bars and raised $1720 for the project! We gave them the $500 match.

Teulon Collegiate SGB decided to grant to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, supporting families who move to Canada. They raised over $5000 by holding an event, and the ICF was pleased to match the $500.
