The Katherine and Ron Mollard Community Fund was created by their daughter, Merilee Mollard, to honour them and their commitment to community.

Ron, Merilee, and Kathy

Ron, known as Tex, and Kathy, known to most as Kay, lived, loved, and supported their
community. In their honour, their Fund will support community activities specific to Stonewall
and Stony Mountain.

Ron and Kathy married July 5th, 1958, and lived their lives, raising three children, Ronnie, Larry
and Merilee in Stonewall. Tex owned and operated his construction company Mollard Moving
and Construction, while Kathy was the principal of Stony Mountain Elementary from
1960-1986. There was nothing Kathy enjoyed more than reading and singing with the
students. Kathy’s proudest moment was the completion of the school expansion. To quote Tex, he was sure that Kathy’s van knew how to drive to Stony Mountain on its own.
The entire family logged many hours on Highway 67 going back and forth between Stonewall
and Stony Mountain.

Upon her retirement Kathy and Tex fulfilled their dream of breeding and raising horses. Kathy
loved to ride and they both loved to watch their family work with the horses on their farm.
